At the turn of the century, Emperor Franz Joseph I. sourced all of his stationery from Huber & Lerner, as do many families from the aristocracy and many personalities from politics, business, and culture today.
We have produced personalised writing paper for the Maharajas of Bhopal and Narsingharh and the United Kingdom’s Duke of Windsor, as well as individual gift wrapping paper for his Highness the Prince Karim Aga Khan. Over the decades, we have supplied the Royal House of Jordan with numerous different types of stationery and specially made leather goods. King Hussein I. and later His Majesty Abdullah II., the incumbent King of Jordan, visited our store on the Kohlmarkt personally.
We have provided stationery to state institutions such as the Office of the Federal President of Austria, the Austrian Chancellery and various ministries and embassies on a continual basis.
We have served many personalities from the art world, such as the novelist Arthur Schnitzler, Alma Mahler, many Burg Theater actors such as Paul and Attila Hörbiger, Paula Wessely, Oskar Werner, Curd Jürgens, O.W. Fischer, Hilde Wagener, and Albin Skoda, as well as personalities from the field of music such as Richard Strauss, Herbert von Karajan, Gottfried von Einem and many well-known individuals from the fields of opera, film and stage.
Sigmund Freud got his writing paper for his famous practice in Berggasse 19 from Huber & Lerner, and personalities such as Nobel Prize winner Erwin Schrödinger, the neurologist Viktor Frankl and the marine biologist Hans Hass were customers of Huber & Lerner.
