Did you know that the Christmas card originated in England in the mid-19th century? Young Lord Sir Henry Cole asked an illustrator to create a Christmas card with the text "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year To You" -- including hand-coloured Christian motifs. This tradition went from England to America and arrived in the German-speaking region in about 1900. 

Today, a paper Christmas card is a lovely, exclusive alternative to those sent via digital media. As a result, we offer a vast range of different cards with Christmas motifs from our historic, company archive with embossing or copperplate printing.  

Our Graphics Department can also design your individual Christmas cards and our special calligraphy service can hand write Christmas greetings. 

Huber & Lerner’s imitation, laid paper Christmas cards with bows are a bestseller, as are elegant sets from well-known companies such as Crane and Caspari from the U.S., Posthumus from Belgium, and Rossi from Italy, all with wonderfully printed Christmas motifs.
